***CATEGORY BUYER - CHANGES WITHIN THE FMCG BUSINESS - MANCHESTER - SALARY: £25,000 - £35,000 + CAR***
A great opportunity within the market leading FMCG company as a Category Buyer. In this role you will play a key role in supplier development and cost savings.
The Role
You will manage and be responsible for a supplier base both in the UK, Europe and overseas. The main responsibilities and tasks will be to manage the tendering process, cost price negotiations, Formal Agreements and supplier rationalisation. You will ensure that category supplies on time in full and with customer focus dealing with queries and working with the Merchandisers to reduce pipeline.
The Person
The ideal candidate for this role will need to be a either a well-experienced assistant buyer or buyer with strong commercial acumen and a proven cost down initiative. Ideally at degree level, you will enjoy a fast paced, challenging environment with retail, mail order or previous FMCG experience.
