***CHIEF METALLURGIST - AEROSPACE - WARRINGTON - £37,500 TO £47,500***

THE ROLE

The Engineering department within our clients business is responsible for all aspects of design and development of their products, from simple hydraulic valves to complete landing gear systems. The Chief Metallurgist is required to perform various tasks that fall into several categories. These categories are specifically; Materials Properties and Performance - this includes the assessment and selection of materials (fatigue, stress loads, weight, cost, Dfx). The Chief Metallurgist will also be responsible for the characterisation and analysis of metals - control, operation and development of metallurgy lab, coupon testing, qualification testing and review. You will also be responsible for the processing, manufacturing and test equipment.

THE PERSON

The ideal candidate will have experience with fatigue (low and high circle), stress and mechanical loading, corrosion, materials, processes and manufacturing, inspection and analysis. The Chief Metallurgist will be degree qualifed within a relevant sunbject, a self starter, hard working individual who can work of their own initiative.
