***HEAD OF PURCHASING - GENERAL MANUFACTURER - WOLVERHAMPTON - WEST MIDLANDS - SALARY: circa £60,000 + EXCELLENT BENEFITS***

This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading manufacturer as Head of Purchasing. Reporting in the CEO, you will be responsible for defining and implementing the purchasing strategy for the business.

As a leading supplier to the retailers and other industrials, this business is experiencing significant growth in sales. With a strong focus on service and innovation, this business has secured contracts with both new and existing customers. The challenge for the business is now to develop the supply base to ensure that the increase in orders can be serviced.

As Head of Purchasing you will lead the department and will be tasked to assess the current supply base to understand if it is strategically aligned to the future direction of the business. Key measures will involve cost reduction, supplier quality and supplier delivery performance. You will have the authority to shape the supply chain in order to best serve the needs of the business, whether that means rationalising suppliers, introducing new suppliers or procurement category and contract management delivers to the business.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Head of Purchasing, Purchasing Director or Strategic Sourcing Director with in service driven manufacturing environment. Ideally knowledge and experience of the manufacturing industry would be beneficial, ideally sectors servicing retail that are lean and heavily cost and service focused. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a track record of defining purchasing strategy and implementing change and improvements across the supply chain.
