***HEAD OF ENGINEERING / ENGINEERING DIRECTOR - HIGHLY ENGINEERED MECHANICAL PRODUCTS - WEST YORKSHIRE - SALARY C. £75,000 + Pension***

The Role

Oversee the planning, control and utilisation of key engineering activities across the Company
Ensure implementation of business plan within the Engineering Group.
Develop new product introduction programs in accordance with the organisation's objectives and ensure that these are delivered on time and to budget.
Ensure that the Engineering Department achieves its targets and business development objectives through effective management.
Contribute to the development of business strategy and plans
Maintain awareness of current market, economic and technology trends to maximise opportunities and minimise risk. Formulate and co-ordinate engineering strategy and drive engineering innovation across the business and its key product and service areas linking in with the new strategy.
With engineering, sales and marketing teams identify new products and services for new and existing markets.
Embed appropriate project management across the engineering team and manage overall interfaces between Engineering, Sales and Marketing, Commercial, Operations and Finance.
Develop the overall engineering organisation to lead the business and meet its evolving needs.
Promote an engineering team ethic throughout the engineering team based upon a consistent approach to engineering development.
Actively develop, manage and measure performance of the engineering team.
Actively contribute to the business overall as a key member of the management team

Observe and promote the company health, safety and environmental requirements both internally and externally.

The Person .

You must be able to demonstrate successful experience in leading a multi-disciplinary engineering department and strong project and people management skills
Significant experience of working in a multi-national, matrix organisation with diverse engineering teams.
Proficient in building and managing engineering teams, and able to add real value to those teams.
Experienced in leading multi-disciplined product research, design and development teams.
Track record of successful development project management with knowledge of CAD systems and project planning tools
Excellent people skills
