COMMODITY BUYER, SENIOR BUYER - LOCATION MANCHESTER - BLUE CHIP - SALARY CIRCA £30,000, BONUS, PENSION

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager the role is to assist in the development and effective of the Purchasing Strategy. You will be required to develop a strong knowledge of the industry sector, the company's competitors and specific suppliers, to optimise the value of purchased goods and services while delivering the highest quality at the lowest possible costsYou will support the Head of Operational Procurement and project managing a range of strategic improvement activities, including cost down and vendor rationalisation across selected categories.

The ideal candidate will be CIPS qualified and have significant experience gained in procurement from within the service or from within the manufacturing sector. Key is the ability to achieve accurate, consistent and effective work performance under pressure, implementing Best Practice wherever possible. Also the ability to appraise situations quickly and react accordingly, taking into account fluctuation workloads and deadlines.

The role will suit someone who has the focus and commitment to look forward and constantly challenge objectives with the goal of bringing true organisational change through effective purchasing.
