Investing in your GREATEST ASSET!

I joined Core Talent in November and as I set about doing presentations and updating corporate material, the consultants would look at it and say ‘Take that Photo down’, ‘I hate that photo of me’, ‘that’s the worst photo ever, I look awful’.  They even requested that there should be no photo’s on the new website.  Okay and breathe! Whilst we all can’t look like we have just had our photo taken by Mario Testino or by my personal favourite the late Herb Ritts, everyone deserves to be happy with their profile photo and I believe that every company should invest in this. There are so many good photographers out there in Manchester. I had a few come into the office, they were more than capable, one even offered to do two weeks of editing after the shoot and to charge me for it.  When I met Colin Boulter of www.neilsonreeves.co.uk/  he really got me thinking.  I showed him our new logo and the plans for our website and he said – ‘Great so you’re looking at investing in your best assets - the people of this business??’  We do invest in our staff, there is a 12 week training programme for all new starters, free breakfast and drinks on a Friday.  Company Conference abroad each year, holiday vouchers etc etc. But, that one phrase was a key part of us booking Colin, his Photography and clear pricing policy got him the ‘interview’ but his views on Celebrating People and investing in your people got him the gig.We talked about how the team felt about their current photos or in fact any kind of corporate photo. Colin was honest about the current shots and said he said he edits as he take the photo. Magic!  A bit like online dating, this will sound cheesy, Colin was humorous, professional and a straight talker, I knew the Chemistry would be there and he would be the perfect match for our Consultants.  We booked a whole day to cover all our 29 members of staff, Colin had it wrapped up by 3pm, so it was less than we budgeted. On the morning of the shoot Colin turned up on his own, early and set about managing around light in our offices opposite the town hall in Manchester. Thankfully all of the consultants had arrived all ready with the colours, make up style and dress that Colin advised us on.  It was down to the consultants as well after all.Colin made everyone feel at ease, made them laugh. We had the ones who we hit the money shot in one go and others took longer. Regardless, Colin showed every employee their photo and we made sure they were happy as I did not want the ‘I hate my photo comments anymore’The results speak for themselves, take a look at our website despite the cheese and the dating comparisons, if you’re looking at investing in your biggest and most important assets and looking for someone who is professional, Likeable, efficient, definitely speak to Colin @NeilsonPhotoswww.neilsonreeves.co.uk/
