Wellbeing at Core Talent Recruitment

When Lockdown 3.0 hit, there was a collective groan that we were once again stuck in lockdown AND worse during the darkest and most miserable time of the year.Working as an accountant, this period is normally the most crucial part of the year for me as we look forward into the new financial year and map out what we want to achieve.I had to make sure that I kept myself mentally strong and avoided the misery that another lockdown and winter brings.With this in mind, I started to make sure that I got my daily steps in by creating a daily commute– making sure I went for a walk before work, and after, to break up the days and mimic the start and end of normal working life.I also made sure that I was running, exercising regularly and practicing meditation.Going into Lockdown, the directors at Core Talent knew that their biggest priority was going to be looking after the wellbeing of their employees. They extended our lunches to ensure that we can enjoy the daylight, go for longer walks, a run, read books or just connect with friends and family.Victoria created a walking challenge to encourage us to move, set up weekly lunch zooms for us all to catch up and even created other special events for birthday’s and Pancake Day for us all to get involved in and have a laugh.This ultimately lead to a team who continue to be highly motivated to support our Clients and Candidates.With all of this in mind, I’ve gained so much already this year. I’m currently:Starting to prepare for marathon trainingExpanded my must read list and devouring more booksContinuing my professional development                   All things that will most likely not be a priority when we can finally go out to restaurants and theatres again!​Thanks for reading!
