Rebecca Taylor - Consultant

My Background:After graduating in Biology at University I decided I wanted to work in recruitment. I was offered by a few recruitment business’ in Manchester, I chose Core Talent because I liked the vibes of the office, and I could see the offered good incentives and social events. I’d spoken with both Directors who were both really friendly and down to earth which helped confirm my decision. My Role:I now work within the International Construction team, specialising in Advanced Facility construction projects across Europe. I focus specifically on Mechanical & Electrical Supervisor and Construction Manager Positions, as well as Health & Safety. The market is really busy, and we have strong relationships with some great businesses within the industry. My Progress:I’ve been with the business for 18 months as a Trainee Recruitment Consultant due to COVID-19. In this time I’ve worked on 3 different markets to adjust the changes within industries caused by the pandemic, each change has been supported by Core Talent to find a profitable market. I’ve now been given the opportunity to work within a great industry, making the changes worth the work. I’m now hoping to receive a promotion to consultant soon. The best things:My favourite thing about Core Talent is the supportive and fun environment. There is always someone who’s willing to help, or give advice when you need it. The Directors and Senior Managers aren’t hidden away in offices, and are always free if you need something. Best advice: Don’t give up. Starting in recruitment is hard, and you definitely have to put in the ground work but you will reap the rewards in the end.Why Core Talent?:The offices are in a great, central location. I live out of the City but find the offices an easy location commute to. They’re also right next to all the bars and restaurants, which is great for after work on a Friday. There is always a social event on the calendar – whether it’s weekly Friday drinks or the annual company holiday. They understand recruitment isn’t a walk in the park, they have achievable goals and offer tools and advice to help to help you build your desk.
