Business Development Sales Manager
Aviation/ Aerospace /Defence

£65,000 + package

The opportunity has arisen to work for a leading aerospace supplier as Business Development Sales Manager. Due to recent growth an additional position is required. Directly reporting into the Business Development Director, the role is heavily focused around business development, but the right candidate will still need to be a proven 'hunter' and 'farmer'. Responsible for managing the relationships with a variety of key customers, you will nurture and grow both existing and new business accounts whilst ensuring the achievement of strategic goals.

The Role

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing long-term relationships with key customers

  • Further develop existing Key Customer relationships / business, while promoting the Company

  • Liaising with customers on product requests, services and to ensure their needs are met

  • Establish and maintain a regular visit schedule, with existing and new Customers

  • Conducting business reviews

  • Preparing new business proposal presentations

  • Assisting with key client negotiations

  • Reviewing contracts and business cases

  • Gather key market intelligence, including Customer budget/ spend

  • Program involvement, in order to develop into new tactical opportunities

  • RFQ's that may lead to new orders in support of our profit plans and forecast

  • Active participation in the commercial process at pre-bid review stage where applicable

  • Involvement with Estimating Team as appropriate during development of bid

  • Support and attend internal BD meetings as appropriate to discuss opportunities, progress and future direction

The Person

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Sales Manager with experience in aerospace manufacturing.
Candidates without direct experience working in aerospace/defence unfortunately cannot be considered for this role.

ESSENTIAL

  • Aerospace/Defence

  • Strong business development / sales experience

  • Proven hunter/ farmer

  • MRO or aviation

  • Strong communicator and influencer at all levels

  • Sound business acumen

  • Enthusiasm to learn and drive results

  • Full UK driving license

DESIRABLE

  • Fabs/machining

The Company

The manufacturer is based in Scotland and is commutable from the surrounding areas. The role requires travel and so there is flexibility to work from home at times.
