Exciting new career Opportunity!! We are working on an exciting new position for a leading manufacturer of speciality chemicals, who are looking for a career driven Buyer to join the growing team. Based at the business state of the art facility in Manchester, the Buyer will form a key member of the existing team and have genuine scope for career progression and development!

The Role

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the buyer will be the Procurement Lead for a major part of the business. This role would be ensuring the business have the right suppliers and capabilities to support the business expectations. Key responsibilities for the buyer would include;

• Sourcing and Resourcing products to meet business needs
• Source new suppliers in demand with customer needs
• Ensure suppliers adhere to QMS Standards (ISO9001)
• Compliance with purchasing and policy procedures
• As Buyer, liaise with Manufacturing to determine product needs

The Person

The business are looking for a highly motivated, career driven Buyer. They will need someone who fits the following key criteria;

• 3 years+ experience in Buyer position or similar
• Must be experience in a manufacturing environment (Chemicals based would be ideal)
• Ability to learn new processes quickly
• Strong Team player
• Competent user of MRP/ ERP systems
• CIPS and/ or degree would be advantageous, but not essential
