I am currently recruiting on behalf of a building services contractor for a Buyer. Your role will involve purchasing equipment, materials and services from selected and approved suppliers, to enable the company to fulfil its contractual obligations.

The Role

• Enter all purchase orders into the SAGE system in an accurate and timely manner

• Liaise with suppliers and maintain an approved supplier list

• Ensure that a supplier evaluation and performance monitoring process is maintained, documented and reported

• Understand delivery requirements for each project and ensure all materials are delivered on time

• Request and evaluate supplier quotations from designated suppliers

• Negotiate service level agreements and T&Cs

• Assist in pricing reviews

• Resolve invoice disputes

• Liaise with project teams on materials needed

• Prepare information required for the management review process

The Person

• Strong communication, administration and negotiation skills

• Working knowledge of ISO9001 quality management system

• PC skills including Word, Excel, Sage etc

• At least five years' experience of buying (ideally in building services)

• A member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing Supply (desirable)

• Competent IT skills
