This role of a CAD Technician / Coordinator will be responsible for CAD product and project delivery to time, cost and quality requirements. The role will involve preparing CAD outputs in either 2D or 3D and liaise with the CAD Manager to ensure drawings are prepared to the specified standards and follow QA procedure.
To take the CAD drawing process from the Consultants basic MEP design through to an 'As Built' drawings status. With experience in drafting all typical MEP systems, i.e. HVAC, LTHW, CHWS, LV distribution, life safety systems, M&E Plant rooms etc & builders-work layouts.
Interpret hand drawn sketches of layouts, changes to service routes & update the CAD drawings with little supervision.
Assist with the production of accurate Mechanical & Electrical drawings (including Co-Ordination Layout) to a high standard often exceeding the original requirements of the project brief & design, also Identify where improvements can be made.
To ensure all MEP CAD drawing work is fully coordinated, avoiding any clashes, and accurately integrated within the architectural and structural design.
Produce high quality drawings/3D models to support project delivery teams & maintain production of CAD drawings to programmed time scales.
All CAD file outputs are subject to appropriate quality checks to maintain a high standard of work.
Ensure accurate referencing of drawings including updating revision status and ensure all drawing issues are accompanied with a drawing issue register & have experience with uploading files onto web-based portals.
Liaise with other designers, consultants & sub-contractors whose CAD coordination and collaboration is required.
Experience in doing site surveying at the start, during & the end of a project ensuring all the drawn information is up to date & correct.
Adopt, work to and promote all relevant company CAD standards & CAD manual
Work with the CAD Manager to develop improvement ideas & drive efficiencies, including improving the CAD system
