CNC Turner/ Miller

The Role
This role based in Burnley is a hands-on position for a CNC Turner/ Miller responsible for Aviation/Aerospace components. Reporting to the Section Leader the CNCTurner/ Miller will part of a team responsible for:

  • Performing CNC operations using milling, lathes & Laser equipment

  • Understand, interpret and work to Engineering drawings

  • working to tight tolerances

  • Tooling solutions for cutting and fixtures

  • Work with manufacturing engineers and programme to operate the CNC

  • Produce and edit NC programs via the machine control and/or ISO code

  • Keep up to date with documentation for CNC path, featuring and tooling information

  • Maintain H&S

  • Update production and quality logs

  • Contribute new ideas and positive support to the current processes

  • Solve manufacturing and quality issues - root cause and analysis tools

  • Provide technical support to other members of the team

  • Sharing knowledge and experience and support coaching and mentoring to new employees and apprentices

  • Continuous Improvement

  • Carry out any other duties

The Person

Based out of the Burnley office the ideal candidate will need the following skill set:

ESSENTIAL

  • Previous CNC Turning/ Milling experience

  • Experience in programming, setting and operating CNC controlled Lathes

  • CNC equipment and controls

  • Team Player with the ability to work alone and use own initiative with minimum supervision

  • Flexible approach to working various shift patterns

  • Willingness to be trained across departments, supporting flexible working requirements

DESIRABLE

  • Time served apprentice

  • Aviation/Aerospace or Automtoive experience
