Core Talent have been appointed to run this Retained Search on behalf of a specialist contractor in the UK & European Data Centre sector.
Due to several recent project wins, and an expansion in the European Data Centre market, I am seeking a Commercial Director - Data Centres to oversee this company's entire Data Centre portfolio.

As the Commercial Director, your responsibility will be to work within the Data Centre business, reporting directly to the company Managing Director.
You will be tasked with building a sustainable commercial strategy whilst supporting the delivery of the overall 2025 growth strategy.
The role is permanent, on a full time basis.
The Commercial Director will have ideally worked within a large Data Centre division for a principal contractor/GC, responsible for both CSA and MEP elements in relation to the overall management of a large commercial team and supply chain.
The successful candidate will have proven experience of supporting a business during a significant growth period, whilst ensuring current processes and procedures are fit for purpose and developed accordingly to support both CSA and MEP.
The Commercial Director will report to the Managing Director and work closely alongside the Senior Leadership. As such, the Commercial Director will be the "Number 2 " to the Managing Director, and will deputise when required.
Roles and Responsibilities
Manage and support a two-stage tender approach.
Protecting the business in terms of mitigating risk and maximising opportunities in relation to client delays.
Maximising opportunities across the change management process, ensuring variations, and claim accounts are submitted at the earliest point, with relevant detail to substantiate entitlement.
Working alongside Head of Procurement, supporting the strategic buying process.
Building client relationships top down, from the most senior level, with both an operational and commercial focus.
Ensure commercial/project teams adhere to Company policy of maintaining daily/weekly site records.
Ensure team compliance in relation to the procurement ordering process.
Collation and presentation of weekly/monthly financial reporting.
Ensuring the sub-contractor administrative process is proactively managed.
Driving both the operational and commercial teams to follow process, checking quality where required.
Ensuring the relevant teams are managing labour and productivity forecasts in an efficient manner.
Working with the commercial teams to ensure they are fully prepared for their monthly CVR meetings.
Providing sound understanding of principle entitlement in regard to the change process.
Administering upstream contracts to ensure that the company position is protected at all times.
Any other duties that maybe required to support the future growth of thedepartment and/or business.
Management of detailed P&L on each project
Management of cash flow on each project and overall business
Management of change control
Driving agreement of time/cost in relation change management
Successful delivery of business revenue targets
Ensuring robust processes are in place to monitor, review and control project budgets
Knowledge/Qualifications and Experience
Understanding of international supply chain management
Proven track record of closing client and subcontractor accounts within a deadline driven environment
Degree qualified in subject relevant to role
