Fantastic new opportunity! We are working with a GLOBAL engineering business who have a NEWLY CREATED opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Engineer/ Lean leader to join their team!

THE ROLE:

Reporting into the Plant Manager the Continuous Improvement Engineer will be responsible for developing the lean strategy and for driving continuous improvement, thus supporting the company's journey to world class performance and growth. Focus on waste reduction, process stabilization and value creation for customers and across the company, all demonstrable through regular incremental KPI improvements.

  • Implement lean through training, coaching, mentoring, energising the team

  • Strive to eliminate waste, reduce lead time, improve customer satisfaction, and increase market share

  • Coordinate lean events

  • To manage the systems which ensure the safety of everyone in the business

  • Deliver sizeable growth opportunities whilst making the most of the existing resources

  • Upkeep of implemented lean systems and tools

  • Provide coaching/mentoring/training (or arrange for) to all levels of the plant on the use and practice of Lean Methodology and tools

  • Maintain portfolio of lean business projects and initiatives and drive prioritisation, timing, and sequencing based on targeted objectives

  • Implementation on the businesses job training system

  • Lean system implementation audits (5S, Kaizen, SOT's and 4-step job instruction)

THE PERSON:

Based out of the Bristol site, the ideal Continuous Improvement / Lean Leader will have the following skills and experience;

ESSENTIAL

  • Experience of Lean/CI implementation and roll out

  • Working knowledge of assembly operation process, cost reduction plans, and customer quality requirements

  • Identifies opportunities and develops new ideas

  • Good planning and organisational skills are essential

DESIRABLE

  • Engineering Degree (Industrial Engineer/Mechanical Engineer) or equivalent

  • Industrial engineering experience including: takt time, time study, line balancing, SPC

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing Software

  • NEBOSH
