Continuous Improvement Engineer



C.£35,000 - 40,000pa


Reporting into the Engineering Manager you will support all current & NPI CI activities within the plant. Roll out the strategy across the manufacturing plant in the UK ultimately driving cost reductions and improving efficiencies and reducing margins. Key responsibilities for the CI/ Process Improvement Engineer will include;

  • Outline the direction in the short and long term for CI and Lean

  • Drive production system initiatives

  • Implement production improvements, cost performance, basic 5s standards

  • Deliver training; deploy on a Lean roll out/Kaizen events

  • Strive the business towards World Class Manufacturing standards

  • Drive business improvement

  • Participate in daily meeting where necessary

  • Layout and process flows

  • Report on progress of projects: risks, budgets, resourcing, critical milestones

  • Strategy and development to create best practice at all times

  • Strive to eliminate waste, reduce lead time, improve customer satisfaction

  • Upkeep of implemented lean systems and tools

THE PERSON: Based out of their Liverpool site, the ideal CI Engineer will have the following skills and experience;


  • 3-5 years in Continuous Improvement/ lean

  • Process Improvement or Industrial or CI experience

  • leading projects and events to eliminate waste

  • Automotive experience

  • Hands on practical experience

  • Training / mentoring experience

  • Experience putting theory into practice and seeing the project through to completion

  • VSM events, kanban and kaizen experience

  • Implement strategic plans to improve capacity and schedule attainment performance

  • Dynamic, self-motivated and results oriented team player

  • Good IT skills

  • SAP/ production systems experience


  • HNC/ time served

  • Automotive

  • Six Sigma Green/black belt/ certified Lean Certification

  • Member of industrial body

  • AutoCAD
