Continuous Improvement Engineer

THE ROLE:

Reporting into the Plant Manager you will support all current & NPI CI activities within the plant. Roll out the strategy across the manufacturing plant in the UK ultimately driving cost reductions and improving efficiencies and reducing margins. Key responsibilities for the CI/ Process Improvement Engineer will include;

  • Outline the direction in the short and long term for CI and Lean

  • Drive and promote continuous improvement standards and methodologies to acheive manufacturing excellence by improving industrial performance

  • Pomote a continuous improvement mindset across the plant

  • Support technical assessments to achieve business goals

  • Implement production improvements, cost performance, basic 5s standards

  • Implement Lean Projects and Workshops

  • Strive the business towards World Class Manufacturing standards

  • Participate in daily meeting where necessary

  • Report on progress of projects: risks, budgets, resourcing, critical milestones

  • Strategy and development to create best practice at all times

  • Strive to eliminate waste, reduce lead time, improve customer satisfaction

THE PERSON:

ESSENTIAL

  • Degree qualified- preferably engineering

  • Must have manufacturing experience- ideally within in a sequencing/ JIT environment

  • Should have a demonstrable track recird in delivery

  • Familiarisation with CI tools- Knowledge of Problem Solving (8d) / Waste Elimination / 5S / Kaizen / Standard Work / Visual Management / SMED and Productivity methodologies, VSMs

  • Good influencing skills/ good communicator

  • Engaging/ high energy/ ambitious- determined and hardworking

  • Stable CV history with progressive roles within same companies
