We are partnered exclusively with a leading engineering business who are recruiting for a career driven Principal Controls Engineer to join their expanding business. They have recently moved into a state of the art facility and are looking for highly motivated, skilled engineers to join their team. THE ROLE:

As a Principal Control Engineer, you will be a key member of the senior leadership team and work closely with our mechanical design, electronics and project engineers and be involved in delivering solutions for a variety of engineering projects, both from a 'clean sheet of paper' and the continuing development of existing systems across Automotive, Defence, Marine and Aerospace.

You'll need project management capabilities, experience managing requirements and specifications and comfortable working closely with our customers and suppliers. This is all achieved through strong communication between stakeholders and teams. You will take a lead role within large programmes or manage projects, with responsibility for the work of other engineers within the project.

THE PERSON

The ideal Principal Control Engineer will be career driven and have a real desire to further themselves professionally. Key criteria to be consider for this role will be as follows;

  • 5 years+ years relevant experience in Project/ Controls/ Systems engineering role (or similar)
  • A broad engineering understanding in either electrical/electronics or mechanical systems (ideally elements of both)
  • Experience in control strategy development and modelling systems (e.g. MATLAB / Simulink)
  • Experience developing control systems (e.g. eMachine, mechatronic actuation etc.)
  • Working knowledge of control theory
  • Ideally educated to degree level in relevant discipline
