Job Title: Interim Cost Accountant/Financial Analyst

Salary: £rate - negotiable

Location: Cheshire

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Length: 6 Months +

The Role

An opportunity has arisen for an interim Cost Accountant/financial analyst/procurement. Reporting to the Group Finance Director this is a pivotal role in the business, where you will be required to provide cost accounting support for a wide range of projects.

The candidate will be required to analyse costs of processes, products, 3rd party deals etc. to provide accurate costings for all products to enable the commercial team to more accurately quote customers.

The customer is looking for someone who has performed well in a similar previous role, in the same or similar industry doing the above, and possesses the skills listed below.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Group Finance Director to accurately build a business case for new pricing opportunities for all products manufactured.

  • Calculating the cost of products across the business

  • Analysis of large amounts of complex data

  • Ability to visualise processes and lean manufacturing methods to build into formal costing model.

  • To liaise with the Operations & Financial personnel to ensure that all internal costings are accurate, and that appropriate financial controls are in place.

  • To undertake margin contribution calculations for the business

  • To monitor, analyse and report upon the impact of price / cost changes within the business.

Key Skills:

  • Cost/pricing accounting experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Ability to communicate with non-finance Managers

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Part-qualified ACCA / CIMA or qualified by experience would be an advantage

  • Understanding of business cost structure and commercial costing models

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven track record within a similar costing environment is essential, gained within an engineering/ manufacturing/aerospace industry sector.

  • Strong communication skills with ability to make yourself understood to non-financial stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently to deliver results in a fast-paced challenging environment.

  • Advanced Excel

  • Strong team player.
