Financial Controller

Global Manufacturing Business

£60,000 - £70,000 + Car & Excellent Package & Benefits

We are working with a global manufacturing business who produce specialist products to a global customer base. You will be a key member of the UK Plant management team and the owner of all financial-related reporting and governance and will be responsible for all the day-to-day accounting transactions.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will lead the administration of general accounting practices and functions, including maintaining fiscal records, preparing financial reports and performing treasury and tax related functions.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Interpret operating results as they impact company financials and make specific recommendations which will result in profit improvement

  • Prepare budgets and provides continual analysis of current projections and operational results in comparison to budget and projections

  • Ensure conformance that all accounting procedures are compliant with IFRS and company policy

  • Maintain accurate General Ledger records with detailed support and analyses aligned for monthly SOX reporting

  • Minimise or eliminate cash transactions

  • Ensure segregation of duties, limits of authority and dual authorisation for all financial transactions

  • Liaise with external advisors on income tax, VAT tax and employment taxes, as needed

  • Reconcile tax accounts (income tax receivable, payable, VAT, etc.)

  • Assist with any other UK related governmental compliance requirements

THE PERSON

The ideal candidate for this role will have an entrepreneurial flair and strong career aspirations. Key criteria to be consider for the role will be as follows;

  • 5 years+ experience working in manufacturing accounting

  • Experience with a multi-product manufacturing standard costing system and MRP system with product bills of material

  • CPA, CMA, or advanced degree desired or pursuit of same required if not held required

  • Solid foundation of IFRS Standards and SOX Reporting

  • Knowledge in Accounting-related best practices in areas such as Period Close, Purchasing, Payables, and Payroll

  • Proficient in ERP applications
