Financial Controller - Europe - Manufacturing

6 Month Minimum contract - Excellent Day Rate on offer! £££

To provide financial consultative services to the European VP Of Operations and the local management teams.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Monthly and annual financial reporting and internal accounting controls. (UK and Swiss turnover c £25M+).

    • Required reporting in local and US GAAP is completed accurately and timely

    • Documentation and implementation of proper internal accounting controls

    • Providing documentation and support for Audits by external independent auditors and Corporate internal auditors such that audits are completed on a timely basis

  • Transactional activities - Implement processes for timely processing of accounts payable, payroll and accounts receivable transactions

  • Cash management - implement and monitor systems to effectively forecast cash position and maximize return on idle cash to minimize borrowing.

  • Implement Fx hedging strategies consistent with Corporate policy which minimize Fx risk

  • Financial planning - coordinate completion of forecasts, annual budget and long term plan

  • Coordinate local insurance programs in support of global insurance program

  • Tax accounting and compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with local tax regulations including corporate income tax, payroll tax and VAT

    • Ensure proper accounting for expense and assets/liabilities

    • Providing documentation and support for tax audits

  • Leasing and financing of facilities and equipment

  • Company Secretarial duties related to legal entities, including documentation of Board of Directors meetings, and required resolutions.

We are interested in receiving an application from you if you are:

  • A fully qualified Accountant with excellent commercial and business experience gained in a manufacturing environment.

  • Able to manage, mentor and motivate a team of accounts.

  • An exceptional communicator with strong IT skills.

  • Highly organised and able to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision making.

  • Keen to join a progressive, growing manufacturing company.

  • Bi-Lingual English/German

  • Able to travel on a regular basis and/or at short notice.
