I am looking for a Functional Safety Engineer for an Engineering company that I am working with. They are looking for a Functional Safety Engineer who has specialised with Medini Analyzer for some exciting projects they have coming up.

My client specialises in making motors and batteries and general zero emission soluts for the automotive and aerospace sectors.

The role will involve supporting Functional Safety Manager, all internal business departments' query and need on functional safety to ensure the whole vehicle project is compliant to ISO26262 - pass Functional Safety Assessment and Audit.

On top of this, my client is looking for an individual who specialises in Medini Analyzer and is able to apply this to a variety of projects my client is working on.

The projects will include the design and prototype of all motor types, including a 120kW, 12,000 rpm high performance electric vehicle traction motors, a 120,000 rpm 17kW generator for a gas turbine electric vehicle range extender, high speed blower motors for industrial fans, and a high speed motor for a commercial vehicle compressor.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proficient with ISO26262 & IEC61508

  • Experience with Medini Analyzer and ability to apply to projects

  • Engineering degree

  • 5+ years as a functional safety engineer on Automotive & Aerospace projects

  • Appropriate experience of major accident hazards and associated risk assessment techniques (e.g. HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA etc.) and technical / engineering control measures

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to innovate and develop technical solutions to complex problems

  • Strong risk assessment / management experience and knowledge of appropriate safety and risk-related tools

  • Can develop functional safety lifecycle documents to high standard including Safety Requirement Specifications, Functional Safety Management Plans, Failure Data Reports, PFD calculation reports (using software packages for the calculations), SIF Registers and Verification documents
