Title: Graduate M&E Quantity Surveyor

Location: London (west)

Day Rate: £250-£280

8 month duration

Core Talent are working with a Tier 1 M&E subcontractor with a turnover of £40m and are looking for a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join them on an exciting rail project in West London with immense opportunity for progression.

Role Summary:

To assist the Senior QS in ensuring that the project is executed in accordance with the project requirements and company standards.

To assist the Senior QS in delivering the commercial aspects of the project continually and proficiently throughout its full project duration until Final Account agreement and Final Payment.

Your role:

  • Assist with Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs)

  • Report to the Senior QS

  • Negotiations of variations, calculations, and settlement of final accounts.

  • Assisting with monthly project cost reports in time for monthly director's meetings.

  • Preparation of bills of quantities for issue to supply chain for quotation. Ensure all quotations are consistent and on a like for like basis

  • Assist the Senior QS with maintaining a positive cashflow

  • Ensure payment dates are met by the Client

  • Attend commercial meetings throughout the project and build a professional and good working relationship with clients QS

  • Prepare take offs for input into CE's/variations

  • Assess and manage risk & opportunities

  • Liaise closely with subcontractors and monitor productivity levels

You will have:

  • BSc Quantity Surveying or similar.

  • Good understanding of NEC Option A compensation event clauses

  • Experience working within rail is ideal but not essential.

  • Competent IT skills

  • Demonstrable ability to work well within a team or autonomously
