An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a market leading automotive manufacturer and distributor based in the North West as HR Manager. This role is well positioned and commutable from Liverpool, Warrington, Manchester, Wigan, Bolton, Preston and Blackburn.

The Role

As HR Manager you will report directly in to the Plant Manager and will sit on the senior management team. You will be responsible for setting the HR strategy for the business and implementing / executing this with the support of a small team including Finance. You will also have responsibility for company wide KPIs as well as the development of HR processes and systems.

Aside from the strategic element you will be responsible for providing a wide range of generalist Human Resources services including recruitment, grievances and disciplinary procedures, training and development, ER, employment law, GDPR compliance, payroll etc. Due to the size of the operation you will be expected to also be hands on and willing to get involved with some of the more operational elements of the job.

The Person


The ideal candidate will have -

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a standalone HR role / HR Manager position in the manufacturing or distribution sector. Unfortunately, due to the unique challenges found within manufacturing and distribution, candidates without this experience will not be considered (ie. sole financial services, public sector etc)
  • You will ideally be Degree educated or have CIPD Level 5 and above. Candidates however with significant work experience may still be considered
  • A strategic mindset, able to put together HR strategies and road maps
  • Be comfortable sat on the Senior Management team engaging with Director level contacts
