One of our largest and well respected clients who are a global manufacturing business based in Newcastle is looking to recruit a HR Officer

THE ROLE

Reporting to the UK HR Manager, as HR Officer you will be responsible for providing a wide range of generalist Human Resources services. We are currently looking for a driven HR Officer for a prestigious Packaging business based in the Newcastle area who will ensure a consistent and fair application to policies, procedures and practices.

The responsibility for the HR Officer covers everything from HR, Recruitment & Training;

  • Support development & implementation of HR initiatives

  • Support the delivery of HR information critical to the management of the business

  • New employees receive an induction and that their progress is monitored

  • Support the site in relation to low level disciplinary and grievance issues

  • Generalist support to the HR function

  • Track and implement employee performance & provide guidance

  • Manage the relationship between the business and the Occupational Health Advisor

  • Advise employees and leaders regarding policies, procedures, practices or contractual issues

  • Raise purchase orders

  • Manage the recruitment needs of the business

  • Recruit and manage temporary employees & complete relevant paperwork

  • Support with training internally ie. Booking training courses, budgets

  • Working alongside the internal training team

THE PERSON
Requirements for the HR Officer include:

Essential:-

  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment

  • Previous HR experience

  • Currently has or is working towards their CIPD (Level 5) qualification

  • Strong organisational skills & ability to multitask

  • Strong commitment to integrity

  • Processes, policies and subsequent actions are treated fairly

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to communicate to all levels within the organisation

  • Able to work alone or part of a team

Desirable:-

  • Experience working in a packaging manufacturing environment

  • Experience in a unionised environment
