Position: HSE Advisor

Location: London (Central)

Industry: Construction (M&E)

Salary: £45K Perm (DOE) + Package

Role: Permanent

Currently recruiting on behalf of a leading M&E Subcontractor for a Health & Safety advisor to work on a landmark residential Project in Central London.

The Role

To ensure that all workers comply with safety legislation and that all safety policies and practices are adopted and adhered to. Also to assist the Health and Safety Manager with various tasks.


  • To assist Health and Safety Manager in complying with current health and safety legislation and/or regulations with the objective of ensuring that all reasonable and proper measures are taken to protect the safety and health of all staff and visitors

  • Assist the Health and Safety Manager in the review of all Company Health and Safety policies and procedures and enforcing them on site

  • To assist the Health and Safety Manager in increasing health and safety awareness at all levels within the organisation and monitor closely health and safety compliance among sub-contractors

  • To carry out daily duties including site inductions, collecting all training records, carrying out walks of the site and the updating and recording of all safety paperwork

  • Carry out weekly toolbox talks with all site personnel

  • To assist the Health and Safety Manager in compiling method statements and risk assessments for new works and reviewing sub-contractor's method statements for upcoming works

  • To participate in Site Safety Meetings on each site with site management and client and discussing any upcoming works and potential hazards

Skills & Experience

  • A Health & Safety qualification such as NEBOSH is essential

  • At least 2 years' experience in delivering Health and Safety in the construction industry

  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to communicate with people at all levels within the organisation

  • Proficient in MS Office and technical drawing skills

  • Self-motivated and with a high level of professionalism

  • The ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks at the same time

  • The ability to collect and analyse a wide range of data and use it for clear and targeted action plans

  • Be able to work efficiently in a team as well on their own
