Controls Technician / Contract / Sheffield

Core Talent are on the lookout for a Controls Technician for a renewables business in Sheffield on an initial 6 Month Contract basis.

The role will be responsible for the commissioning and testing of the Instrument and Control systems prior to shipping to the end customers.

This position will follow a 2 shift pattern - Day Shift 6am-2pm & Afternoon Shift 2pm-10pm.

The role:

• Commission, troubleshoot and calibrate control and instrumentation systems

• Software download and IO testing

• Loop and alarm testing

• Electrical system fault finding and resolution

• Safety system testing

• Completion of testing and commissioning records

• Performing witnessed testing for clients/third-parties

• Feedback issues or opportunities to facilitate continuous improvement

Experience Required:

• 3 or more years in a comparable role, involving industrial control and automation systems

• Working knowledge of PLC based control systems

• Experience in start-up, commissioning or service of industrial plant

• Ability to quickly learn new technology used within process control & automation

• Ability to understand and work from technical drawings and documentation
