We are currently looking for an Instrument and controls (I&C) Technician for a global manufacturer of hydrogen power solutions to customers across the world. They are going through a significant period of growth at their South Yorkshire facility and are looking for a career driven engineers to join their skilled team.

The Role

working alongside the production and test teams the I&C Technician will be responsible for the commissioning and testing of the instrument and control systems of megawatt scale electrolyser modules prior to shipping to the end customer. Other responsibilities include:

• Commission, troubleshoot and calibrate control and instrumentation systems

• Software download and IO testing

• Loop and alarm testing

• Electrical system fault finding and resolution

• Safety system testing

• Completion of testing and commissioning records

• Performing witnessed testing for clients

• feedback issues or opportunities to facilitate continuous improvement

The Person

The ideal I&C technician will have the following skills:

• Time served engineer qualified to HNC/HND or higher qualification

• Experience of working in a comparable role, involving industrial control and automation systems

• Experience in start-up, commissioning or service industrial plant

• Ability to quickly learn new technology used within process control and automation

• Ability to understand and work from technical drawings and documentation

Preferred

• Experience with Siemens 7 PLCs

• HART instrumentation

• LV Authorised person

• Experience working with safety systems
