Interim Planning Manager
6 Month Contract
We are currently looking for an Interim Planning Manager on behalf of a manufacturing company in the Surrey area.
The successful candidate will be tasked with taking ownership of the planning functions and for our client's production facility.
You will ensure that customer service levels, On Time Delivery performance and production schedules are maintained in line with company expectations.
The Interim Planning Manager will maintain system data integrity and site capability information for all manufactured parts.
Management of the site order book to a three month planning horizon.
Capacity planning and control.
Provision of lead time information and availability requests as part of the contract review process.
The generation of production schedules for each department, along with the corresponding shop-floor documentation, maximising recovery hours and efficiencies while controlling cost.
Working with procurement, manage the flow of production materials to ensure shortages are tracked and that the right materials are in place at the right time.
Management of production system integrity, including production pack generation/deletion, expediting and cancellation messages and the resolution of system issues.
System confirmation of OE and serialised items.
Maintenance of master data in SAP for production materials.
Generation of weekly/monthly reports, including schedule adherence and order progression.
Based out of the Surrey production facility, the ideal Planning manager will have the following skills and experience;
The role requires excellent IT skills and a willingness to learn. An in-depth knowledge of SAP PTS and MRP systems, as well as Microsoft Excel, is essential.
Previous experience within a planning role is a pre-requisite, with manufacturing experience essential.
The preference would be for someone to come from a mechanical / assembly manufacturing background.
A good understanding of Lean business techniques.
The position requires determination, attention to detail, persuasiveness, flexibility, initiative and the ability to manage several tasks concurrently.
Ability to communicate in a professional manner at all levels is essential.
