Aerospace - Interim Quality Manager

Greater Manchester

6 Month Contract

Rate - Negotiable based on experience

THE ROLE:

An excellent opportunity for an experienced interim Quality manager to oversee Aerospace manufacturing facility. The candidate will be required to lead and manage all aspects of quality engineering related to manufacturing and downstream processing.

KEY RESPOSNISIBILITES:

  • Management of ISO 9001:2015, AS 9100 Rev D and ISO 14001:2015 standards

  • Manage a team of Quality Control (QC) Inspectors

  • Establish Quality procedures for with KPIs that are ISO standard compliant

  • Ensure manaufacturing processes are legally compliant (EH&S) at both national and international level

  • Train Quality department staff on monitoring of metrics

  • Standard operating procedures (SOPs) and collate best practice

  • Plan and perform internal and external supplier audits

  • Write and manage technical reports

  • Conduct QC reports on a monthly basis and present to senior management

  • Conduct QC investigations and document non-conformities (NCs) and take action if required to ensure ISO standards

THE CANDIDATE:

REQUIRED skills and experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of AS9100 Rev D, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards

  • Ability to set up ISO 9001 QMS from first principles

  • Auditor Experience

  • Ability to establish meaningful KPIs

  • Ability to establish and interpret metrics from both manufacturing and laboratory perspective

  • Ability to read technical drawings and specifications with keen eye for detail

  • Ability to prioritise, work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Highly analytical, numerate and literate

  • Hold a valid driving license

DESIRABLE skills and experience:

  • LEAN and/or Six Sigma experience

  • Operational knowledge of manufacturing process, and ability to detect areas of weakness in Quality

  • Knowledge of MRP or ERP systems in terms of setting PPK and CPK limits for all crucial path equipment
