Junior Production Engineer



£25,000 - £27,000

The Role
Reporting to the Production Engineering Manager the Production Engineer will part of a team responsible for providing Engineering support to the operational team to ensure confrorming and cost effective products are delivered to the customer

  • Provide Engineering advice / guidance by adopting a business partnering approach with the Operations team

  • Support production cells

  • Introduce NPI and processes

  • Trouble shooting for supporting processes and machines

  • Train operators as necessary

  • Liaise with Project managers and plan and manage individual projects

  • Identify process improvements

  • Work with design engineering

  • Support Quality on root cause & corrective actions

  • Define manufacture process route for new products

  • CAPEX projects

  • Introduction of new equipment

  • Manage and Maintain PFMEA tools on both new and existing products

  • APQP, Process instructions, capability trials, MSAs, SOPs

  • Liaise with machine tool suppliers on design, building, commissioning and pass off of all new machines for production processes

  • Support the business on measurement checking where required

  • Working with jig and tool design to ensure optimal designs for manufacture are achieved

  • Interpretation and understanding of technical specifications

The Person

Based out of the Manchester office the Production Engineer will need the following skill set:


  • At least 2 years in a production engineering role

  • Experience developing manufacturing methods

  • CNC/ tooling/ fixturing experience is a plus

  • Must be educated from HND/HNC or apprentice level

  • Possess proficient PC literacy and IT skills

  • Team player with strong inclusiveness skills

  • Proven interpersonal skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate (both orally and in writing)


  • CNC machinist background would be an advantage (CNC mill/ lathes)
