MAINTENANCE ENGINEER - ELECTRICAL BIAS

WIGAN

£35,000 BASIC (DOUBLE DAYS)

Excellent New Role!! An opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Engineer to join an SME Manufacturing business based in the Wigan area. They provide bespoke products to a range of industry sectors and have a well-established, global customer base. The role will be double days shift.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Maintenance Engineer will be working within a skilled team, with responsibilities being to respond immediately to machine breakdowns and carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).

The Maintenance Engineer will:

  • Carry out machine breakdowns, PPM, Site maintenance, Ordering of materials, parts and services as required

  • Check, repair and service machinery, equipment, systems and infrastructures

  • Carry out repairs and machine moves where applicable

  • Ensure that machinery and equipment runs smoothly and reliably in order to support the manufacturing operations.

  • Fault finding and repair of all plant, machinery and equipment

THE PERSON


The ideal Maintenance Engineer will need the following:

  • Time served fitter/engineer or have a City & Guilds certificate (or equivalent) in Mechanical Electrical Engineering

  • 17th Edition

  • Experienced Maintenance Engineer

  • Experience within a manufacturing environment would be an advantage

  • Able to read schematic drawings and diagnose faults quickly & accurately

  • Experienced with all aspects of pneumatics and hydraulics
