An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a leading multi-national Automotive supplier based in the Sunderland area with a high quality product and a diverse customer base. As Managing Director you will have responsibility for all end to end operations and site strategy in a fast paced automotive supplier going through a period of change.
Reporting to the CEO, as Managing Director of this leading Automotive supplier in the Sunderland area, you will have full autonomy to manage end to end Operations in a JIT supply environment. Key tasks are to manage customer relations, help the business in on its cultural and physical change process and ensure delivery of product to customer in the required time, cost and quality. You will manage across all Operations including Production, Quality, Manufacturing, MP&L, Maintenance, Facilities and Engineering. This role has full P&L control for the site and you will be expected to help deliver on financial revenue targets whilst reducing cost through cost saving initiatives.
We are looking to recruit an experienced Automotive Managing Director for our client in the Sunderland area who has operated at Managing Director, Plant Manager / Director, General Manager or similar Site Leadership capacity that can lead, motivate and challenge a team in a highly pressurised, fast paced 1st Tier environment. It is essential that you are from an automotive background experienced in supplying JIT in to an OEM environment.
Candidates without experience of the automotive industry at OEM or Tier 1 level will unfortunately not be considered for this role.
This role will involve some real challenges in terms of managing robust teams, supporting business growth, achieving Manufacturing and Production output targets and delivery, coaching and training. You should have experience of leading change management projects, building robust teams, coaching and mentoring existing staff and be strong in maintaining positive relations with OEM customers. You should have experience of managing P&L and have a good understanding of financial management and control.
The business have multiple sites globally so candidates with the capacity to manage multiple sites would be advantageous for future Group opportunities. Ideally candidates will be of degree calibre and qualified in engineering and manufacturing subject.
