We are currently looking for a skilled manufacturing engineer for a prestigious Aerospace business based in Cheshire / Flintshire area. They are offering a competitive salary with and excellent pension scheme. The business have a market leading product with a global customer base and are looking to bring someone into their successful engineering team immediately.

THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Operations Manager you will be part of a team supporting the day to day activities of the assembly test and development departments. Other responsibilities include

  • New product introduction from initial bid, design reviews, equipment specification, shop floor layout through to final pass off to manufacturing

  • Continuous improvement, cost out initiatives, process flow improvements

  • Tool and fixture design, quotation and implementation

  • Perform 8D RCA for yield, build or quality issues when required

  • Key interface between supporting departments, and manufacturing including Quality, Engineering and Planning

THE PERSON:

The ideal manufacturing engineer will have the following skills and experience;

  • Experience with PFMEA Control Plans and APQP processes

  • Educated to an HND/ HNC level or experience as a Manufacturing Engineer as a minimum requirement

  • Accountable success and experience of process change and process improvement is essential

  • Excellent manufacturing background within aerospace beneficial, however open to other industry sectors
