Manufacturing Engineer

THE ROLE
A well known client is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to support a cross functional team to develop and produce equipment specifications in line with corporate guidelines, within time & budget. The responsibilities will be:
facilitate production cell teams to deliver production to plan and to quality
CAPEX- ensuring equipment purchased and commissioned meets specs
SOPs
Define process flow for NPI and existing programs using manufacturing system design tools and methodology
Maintain & develop FMEA's, Control plans
Packaging development
Lead Lean manufacturing projects
Implement production & tooling equipment
Review processes and systems to plan and execute an improvement programme
Cost justification packs with associated paybacks for capital investments
Data analysis & capture in support of departmental/business projects
manufacturing cell layouts
Support Programme management with NPI
Support quality and manufacturing functions in problem resolution and 8D process
Support C.I. department with lean & Six Sigma projects
THE PERSON
The Manufacturing Engineer for the business in Birmingham, needs the following experience:
ESSENTIAL
Working knowledge of lean manufacturing methodologies, APQP, CI, VSM
Project management experience - CAPEX / assets
Strong problem-solving/problem-resolution skills
Experience of delivering 'launch' of customer programs
software programs eg. AutoCAD, Excel, Microsoft Project;
high comfort level using databases and spreadsheets
Awareness of 5s disciplines
THE COMPANY
The business are working with multiple customers currently and have a solid order book moving forward. They are great at internally developing their employees through training and promoting internally. The manufacturing team is spread across multiple UK sites and global roles are an option in the longer term. The business are looking for a manufacturing engineer to come in and hit the ground running.
