The Role

To provide engineering support to production with the aim of ensuring all issues affecting production throughput are addressed promptly. To respond to day-to-day engineering queries appropriate to your place of work and support Manufacturing Engineering with department-specific knowledge.

  • Provide Engineering advice / guidance by adopting a business partnering approach with the Operations team

  • Support NPI / NPD

  • Cost reductions/ productivity improvements

  • Lean Techniques such as 6S/ SMED/ VSM

  • Root cause analysis such as 5 whys & 8D

  • CAPEX projects

  • Problem solving for engineering issues, processes and methods of manufacture

  • Identify tooling issues

  • Audit engineering processes & action non compliances

  • Identify continuous improvement / problem solving

  • Participate in TPM activities & OEE

  • Engineering changes

  • Support H&S audits, risk assessments

  • Maximise productivity

  • Creating BOMs

  • Interpretation and understanding of technical specifications

  • Support with technical issues

  • Reading and converting drawings, models & process specifications into manufacturing instructions

  • Process flow improvements

  • Problem solving techniques using recognised business improvement methodology


The Person

Based out of the Sheffield based office the Manufacturing Engineer will need the following skill set:

ESSENTIAL

  • HND/HNC or apprentice trained

  • Minimum 4 years Manufacturing Engineer/Process Engineer background

  • Aerospace

  • Sheet metal working / fabrications

  • Tooling experience

  • Read engineering drawings

  • PC literacy and IT skills

DESIRABLE

  • Degree in related engineering field

  • Heat treatment

  • Cold Forming/ hot forming/ Stretch-forming

  • NDT experience
