Are you looking for a new Mechanical Estimator opportunity?

I am currently on the lookout for a Mechanical Estimator with experience working for MEP contractors previously. The client is well known for their successful delivery of MEP projects across construction sector.

The successful Estimator will be joining a business who is currently turning over £35M and are looking to expand again with a healthy order book. The successful person will be joining the Pre-construction team if the business and will be communicating on a daily basis with the Estimating Manager.

This client has experience in successfully delivering M&E projects in the following:

• Office CAT A fit-out.

• High End Residential.

• Shell & Core.

• Plant rooms.

• Steam boiler projects.

As a Mechanical Estimator with this client, you will be responsible for all your own workload and for looking after the project you are on. You will also be required to be making all of your own decision and will be expected to show initiative.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Support the Estimating team with Mechanical bids and tenders.

• Prepare and submit prime cost estimates utilising Enterprise Estimating Software.

• Liaise with internal and external engineers, consultants and subcontractors to construct and formulate estimates and resolve issues.

• Analyse drawings, specifications and other documentation to prepare estimates.

• Identify and provide alternative design proposals, solutions and value engineering options.

• Establish and maintain tendering processes and conduct negotiations.

• Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors.

• Support and encourage junior team members.

• Monitor targets and work flow.

• Control and organise tender documentation.

Personal Specification:

• Experience working for Mechanical & Electrical sub-contractor.

• Experience using estimating software packages such a Trimble.

• The successful Estimator will also need to be proficient using Excel.

• Ability to work on own initiative with confidence and accuracy.

• Analyse drawings, specifications and other documentation to prepare estimates.

• Prepare and submit prime cost estimates utilising Trimble Estimating Software.
