Currently recruiting on behalf of a MEP Rail Contractor for a MEP CAD Engineer to join the design team on a prestigious rail Project based in London. You can either be based in London or in their other office in Herts if that suits better.

The Role

With the input from various Design Engineers, the applicant:

  • Will be required to develop the detail design from RIBA 4C to complete their works. This will include but not limited to, detailed designs and calculations associated with the secondary support's, support frames & brackets where required for approval.

  • Will be required to develop the Clients RIBA 4C drawings, adding in additional information as required to develop them to AFC & Record Drawing.

  • Will provide all necessary structural supports, secondary steel support frames, steelwork plinths and brackets required for all plant (Fan, attenuators, transitional ducts, dampers and ductwork) for their connection to the main structure to complete the works, including their detailed design for approval and acceptance prior to installation.

  • Will provide prefabricated drawings prior to manufacture for review and comment. Please note that while the subcontractor will provide comment and acceptance prior to manufacture, they will remain responsible for any errors of design, measurement or interpretation of the works information on their working drawings.

  • Will be required to input all secondary support, prefabrication and any other details required into the BIM 3D model for acceptance. This information once accepted will be incorporated into the full BIM model.

  • Will be required to provide access information on the drawings for equipment maintenance and replacement. The model is analogous to the level of detail in BSRIA level 3.

  • Shall design supporting steelwork to enable lifting and pulling operations described within the Access and Maintenance documents to install or maintain the fans and associated equipment.

The Person

  • Must be proficient in Bentley AECOsim - The authoring software for drawings and models.

  • Must have experience of using ProjectWise.

  • Must come predominantly from a Mechanical or Electrical background, but will look at other disciplines dependant on experience on Bentley.
