Circa €90,000 - €110,000pa

I am currently seeking a MEP Coordinator with a minimum of 8 years of commercial construction experience to work on Projects across the DACH region of Europe. You will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of all aspects of the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, low voltage system, ICT, and BMS scopes of a project(s).

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and installation of MEP comprising electrical, HVAC, BMS/EMS controls, plumbing, process piping, fire/life safety, and fire protection through the various phases of the project including design/construction coordination

  • Responsible for providing construction and pre-construction support for MEP systems and will oversee the balancing, commissioning and validation certification of these systems, including the turnover package

  • Assist in the development of full commissioning plans for all MEP systems that identify and define the following: all test requirements, required inspections, factory start-up of major equipment, factory acceptance testing, project and vendor documentation requirements, and integrated test plans demonstrating full system operations

  • Strong grasp of mechanical and electrical engineering concepts

  • Manage and lead MEP field/ site activities and MEP project changes in conjunction with the MEP superintendents

  • Lead start-up and commissioning effort

  • Coordinate equipment and material deliveries into the project

  • Support construction start up schedules, perform regular updates, and insert new activities and impacts in conjunction with the MEP superintendent and project planner

  • Deploying full commissioning plans for all MEP systems that identify and define the following: all test requirements, required inspections, factory start-up of major equipment, factory acceptance testing, project and vendor documentation requirements, and integrated test plans demonstrating full system operations

  • Daily management of the commissioning process and the commissioning team. Coordinate use of technology; used to track all items

  • Good understanding of fire/life safety and fire sprinkler systems and the integration of same with mechanical/electrical/building systems

  • Coordination of test and balance requirements and final review

  • Management of direct controls integration

  • 100% detailed/hands-on knowledge of project scope

  • Challenge and support jobsite and self-perform work team

  • Oversee coordination of MEP systems through the project virtual design and construction process

  • Participate in review of all MEP related shop drawings and submittals

  • Manage RCAs; root cause analysis; and support investigation(s) and reporting on issues as required

  • Assist with contingency and mitigation planning as required to ensure that the business and project can meet milestone dates as required

Role Requirements

  • Excellent listening and strong communication skills

  • Demonstrated understanding of building processes and systems

  • 8+ years of experience in commercial construction, preferably within the Data Centre / Pharmaceutical / Industrial

  • Strong grasp of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering concepts and applicable

codes

  • Good understanding of fire/life safety and fire sprinkler systems and the integration of same with mechanical, electrical, building systems

  • Good understanding of the test and balance process and requirements

  • Good understanding of building automation systems and sequences as it relates to MEP

  • Ability to contribute to a culture of safety in a construction environment

  • Comfortable in an open and collaborative working environment

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or related field

  • A strong work ethic and a "can-do" attitude

  • English speaking

  • Some knowledge of the German language would be beneficial
