Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (interim contract)- Food and Drink / FMCG Manufacturing

North West

£20 - £25 per hour

Contract - 6-12 months

Various shift patterns available

A prestigious blue-chip client of ours is looking for multi-skilled engineers to assist with their ongoing expansion across the North West. You will be joining a well-established team in a company that is a renowned household name. With growing global demand for their product, you will be critical to their continued success in the market.

The Role:

You will draw on previous experience of working in fast-paced, Food and Drink / FMCG Manufacturing environments and use your initiative to work autonomously. Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the manufacturing process is as efficient as possible. You will excel in some/all of the following:

  • Set up and change over

  • Carrying out planned maintenance, fault finding and repairs as required

  • Proactively identifying potential faults before they occur

  • Boosting efficiency by implementing appropriate solutions in a timely manner

  • Liaising with relevant departments to report on problems, suggesting improvements where necessary

  • Minimising machine downtime

The Person:

  • Multi-skilled engineer ideal but not essential (no preference on bias - electrical or mechanical equally considered)

  • Good knowledge and experience of working within a GMP environment is preferred

  • Relevant qualifications

  • Working within an FMCG manufacturing environment is essential

  • Ability to maintain effective relationships with all departments

  • Knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation (preferred but not essential)

  • Ability to demonstrate experience of working well within a team or as an individual

  • Able to prioritise issues
