Night Shift Manager

Engineering Business

£38,000 + shift allowance

Coventry / Birmingham

We are looking for a determined and focused Night Shift Manager to lead and drive performance at an established and Automotive Engineering business based in the West Midlands.

The Person

  • Shift Management Experience is Essential, preferably with experience of Night Shift Management

  • Exceptional motivational skills with the ability to autonomously engage a team in a fast moving automotive industry to perform at top capacity and create a pulsating team atmosphere

  • Previous experience using lean, streamlined manufacturing methods is crucial

  • Able to work independently using inventiveness and initiative to solve problems

  • Drives performance to achieve or exceed financial plans and strategic goals.

  • Assures that Environmental, Health, and Safety issues are addressed

  • Hands on Management style

  • Experience with CNC Machining or CNC Precision Engineering

The Role

  • Take full ownership of the areas defined on your shift ensuring smooth changeovers between shifts relaying all relevant information.

  • Achieve production targets in your area and ensure the smooth flow of work through the sections and to other areas with clear communication.

  • Achieve on time delivery in full through the area and achieve KPI's for productivity with the use of OEE measures to ensure performance, capacity planning, and utilisation.

  • Monitor and reduce scrap levels.

  • Ensure that the output is made to the agreed schedules.

  • Take ownership of the employees on the shift in your areas, controlling holidays, and training matrices and promote strongly flexible working between machines, and if necessary sections, liaising with management for required overtime to meet objectives.

  • Ensure supervision is adequate for any overtime required and ensure there is on site supervision to facilitate working practices.

  • Work with managers to implement the company policies and business objectives.
