NPI Process Engineer- Automotive

Huddersfield/Bradford/Leeds/Wakefield/Halifax - West Yorkshire

up to £45,000

We are currently looking for a skilled process engineer for a prestigious Automotive business based in the Leeds area, paying up to £45,000. Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager you will be part of a team running the process operation. Key responsibilities for the manufacturing engineer will include;

  • support, develop and introduce new manufacturing processes, equipment and facilities in order to increase capacity, throughput, improve safety and product quality and reduce manufacturing costs

  • Support NPI to ensure manufacturing processes, equipment and facilities are capable and effective in the delivery of required outputs

  • Development of modern CI and lean manufacturing culture

  • New manufacturing processes, equipment & facilities: including specifications, potential suppliers, negotiate and agree costs within budget targets, CAPEX and implementation

  • Current processes improvements including: identifying waste and cost reduction opportunities

THE PERSON:

Based out of the Leeds office, the ideal NPI process engineer will have the following skills and experience;

ESSENTIAL

  • Qualification relevant whether degree or HNC/HND

  • 3 years' minimum experience in role Process engineering role

  • Project management

  • NPI

  • Hands on

  • Experience with electro/mechanical, hydraulics/pneumatics experience

  • Documentation experience

  • Good fault finding and analytical problem solving skills

  • Strong PC skills and competent with Microsoft Office applications

DESIRABLE

  • Experience of work measurement and method study/MTM/MOST

  • CI & Lean (kanban, SMED, etc)
