OPERATIONS MANAGER

£70,000

A leading Aerospace business based in Scotland- Glasgow/ Kilmarnock area are currently recruiting for a Senior Operations Manager to join their senior management team.

THE ROLE

You will provide leadership and assume full control for all production and manufacturing on site and ensure smooth running of the site and operations to lead successfully execute customer contracts whilst meeting deadlines.

  • Ensure all engineering and quality issues are successfully controlled

  • Continuous Improvement culture and accountability is driven within the teams

  • Oversee planning, development and control of the business areas to hit customer requirements

  • Customers schedules, specifications and cost targets are met

  • Ensure appropriate measurements, control and systems are implemented

  • Building and developing internal teams including recruiting, building and growing new teams

  • Plan, monitor and control resources

  • Provide direction to employees with internal performance management

  • To drive team performance to ensure that customer orders are completed in line with customer expectations, to specification

  • To continuously monitor and guide team performance, identifying development needs and providing solid coaching and mentoring support

  • Work cross functionally with wider Senior Management to achieve strategic company targets

  • Driving improvements in a multi-skilled environment, achieving set agreed deadlines

  • Developing the team around you and championing best practice where H&S/ lean manufacturing are concerned

THE PERSON

The ideal Operations Manager will have:

  • Aerospace experience currently

  • 5 years+ experience in an Operations management role

  • Experienced working in complex manufacturing environment would be preferable

  • Lean experience

  • Strong leadership qualities

  • Excellent man management experience

  • Track record of leading and developing teams

  • Communicate clearly at all business levels and have a proactive and driven approach to their work

  • Customer facing
