Reporting to the General Manager you will have full autonomy to manage the day to day Operations of an Aerospace Plant in the North West. This is a new senior leadership position in a key site for the group and you will manage across all Production, Engineering, Manufacturing. The day to day will predominantly focus on driving performance, providing clear strategy and direction. Additional responsibilities of the Operations Director are listed below:

  • Create plans to continuously strive to meet or exceed contractual arrangements using the resource within your control in the most effective manor, ensure that the site is capable of delivering the business requirements at all times

  • Work with other Operation Managers to modify, improve, refine standard operating procedures

  • Ensure the product is delivered to strict lead times to exceed customer expectations

  • Drive continuous improvement across the plant

  • Establish clear goals and objectives are met

  • Implement identified improvements to ways of working particularly ensuring customer deliverables are accurate leading to improved productivity

  • Work in conjunction with Functional Managers to smoothly implement organic business

  • Sure highest standards of Quality performance

  • Optimise performance, cost effectiveness and maintain control of the cost base

  • Identify, manage and implement route causes corrective action to drive improvements

  • Build a strong relationship with customers and senior managers



  • Currently or recent Aerospace experience is essential

  • 5 years+ senior Operations management experience

  • Proven track record of managing teams

  • Implementing performance management procedures

  • Drive improvements in the business

  • Projects examples of improvements and deliverables previously achieved

  • Lead, motivate and challenge a team

  • Managing robust teams

  • Supporting business growth

  • Achieving Manufacturing and Production output targets and delivery, coaching and training


  • Ideal candidates will be of degree calibre and qualified in engineering and manufacturing subject

  • Experience in fabrications/machining
