Operations Director

Automotive

North West

£80,000 - £90,000 plus benefits

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a global multinational Automotive supplier, based in the North West of England. Reporting to the Managing Director you will have the autonomy to manage the Manufacturing, Production, MP&L and Engineering functions. This role is well located and commutable from much of the surrounding area, the business is however also interested in speaking to those candidates looking to relocate.

Key tasks are to deliver on production targets, further implement a lean manufacturing strategy and facilitate both process and cultural change to help the factory on its journey to world class.

The Person

We are looking to recruit an Operations Director who can lead, motivate and challenge a team in a highly pressurised, fast paced 1st Tier environment. Our client is looking for either an established Operations Director / Plant Manager or a Operations Manager, Production or Manufacturing Director looking to take their next step. You will have experience of strategic leadership but also comfortable with hands on, shop floor elements of the role.

Ideally candidates will be from an automotive background and experienced in supplying in to an OEM environment with short lead times. The business is however open to candidates from dynamic, fast paced manufacturing backgrounds ideally with experience in assembly processes.

Candidates should have strong Production and Manufacturing management experience as well as a exposure to managing Engineering and MP&L teams. A lean approach to reducing waste, improving processes and saving costs is essential. Ideally candidates should be degree educated, however candidates without a degree but significant relevant experience will still be considered.

Any experience in shop floor transformation including the introduction of automation and robotics would be extremely advantageous.

The Company

Our client is a global leading automotive 1st Tier organisation enjoying a period of expansion and growth. There are opportunities for progression and developement for those that apply themselves.
