OPERATIONS MANAGER

£55,000- £60,000+ BONUS+ Excellent Benefits

A leading Aerospace business based in Blackburn who supply bespoke engineering products to a global customer base, are currently recruiting for a Operations Manager to join their senior management team.

THE ROLE

You will report directly to the MD and assume full control for all production and manufacturing on site. Managing a structured team across Production, Manufacturing, HS & planning, key responsibilities will be to lead, facilitate and pro-actively drive all production activities within the business.

  • To drive team performance to ensure that customer orders are completed in line with customer expectations, to specification.

  • To continuously monitor and guide team performance, identifying development needs and providing solid coaching and mentoring support.

  • Keeping site efficiency's to an optimum level, suggesting positive process improvements wherever possible

  • Work cross functionally with wider Senior Management to achieve strategic company targets

  • Driving improvements in a multi-skilled environment, achieving set agreed deadlines

  • Developing the team around you and championing best practice where H&S/ lean manufacturing are concerned

THE PERSON

The ideal Operations Manager will have:

  • An Aerospace background

  • 3- 5 years+ experience in an Operations management role

  • Experienced working in complex assembly led, Engineering environments would be preferable

  • Strong leadership qualities

  • Excellent man management experience

  • Track record of leading and developing teams

  • Communicate clearly at all business levels and have a proactive and driven approach to their work

DESIRABLE

  • Degree

  • Industry qualifications (NEBOSH/ SIX Sigma) preferred, but not essential
