THE ROLE

Reporting to the Ops Director you will have full autonomy to manage the day to day leadership, ensuring resources are appropriately utilised to maximise business unit performance and achieve departmental and organisational targets. This is a senior leadership position in a key site for the group and you will manage the day to day whilst predominantly focus on driving performance, providing clear strategy and direction. Additional responsibilities of the Operations Manager are listed below:

  • Developing effective relationships with internal and external customers

  • Maintain and grow new and retain repeat orders

  • Develop product margins

  • Continue to develop current customer relationships

  • Point of contact for all commercial issues and manufacturing

  • Continually strive to meet or exceed contractual arrangements

  • Develop process for business review and development within business unit

  • Accountability for the business development

  • Quotation process

  • Fully contribute to the strategic direction of the business unit

  • Develop staff and skills, departmental capabilities whilst focusing on succession planning

  • Communicate effectively the status of the business, goals and objectives and feedback on current performance against plan

THE PERSON:

ESSENTIAL

  • 5 years+ senior management experience

  • Aerospace background

  • Implementing performance management procedures

  • Drive improvements in the business

  • Projects examples of improvements and deliverables previously achieved

  • Proactive, naturally result led

  • Supporting business growth

  • Achieving Manufacturing and Production output targets and delivery, coaching and training

DESIRABLE

  • Ideal candidates will be of degree calibre and qualified in engineering and manufacturing subject

  • Experience in fabrications/machining
