Manufacturing Operations Manager

Automotive

£60,000 - £70,000 DEPENDANT ON EXPERIENCE

This role is commutable from Manchester / Warrington / Liverpool and the surrounding areas

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Plant Manager you will have full autonomy to manage the day to day Manufacturing Operations of a Tier 1 Automotive Plant in the West Midlands area. Key tasks are to further implement a lean manufacturing strategy with the team, in balance with consistently achieving the targets in terms of cost, quality, safety and delivery. You will manage across all Production, Engineering, Manufacturing.

THE PERSON

We are looking to recruit an experienced Operations leader for our Automotive client based in the West Midlands who can lead, motivate and challenge a team in a highly pressurised, fast paced 1st Tier environment. It is essential that you are from an automotive background experienced in supplying in to an OEM environment with short lead times.

This role will involve some real challenges in terms of managing robust teams, supporting business growth, achieving Manufacturing and Production output targets and delivery, coaching and training. You should have experience of leading large Production and Manufacturing teams and will have preferably gone in to Operations through Production Management. You must be comfortable working in highly unionised environments. Ideal candidates will be of degree calibre and qualified in engineering and manufacturing subject.

  • 3- 5 years+ experience in an Operations management role

  • Experienced working in complex assembly led, Engineering environments would be preferable

  • Strong leadership qualities

  • Excellent man management experience

  • Track record of leading and developing teams

  • Communicate clearly at all business levels and have a proactive and driven approach to their work

DESIRABLE

  • Degree

  • Industry qualifications (NEBOSH/ SIX Sigma) preferred, but not essential
