Packaging Manufacturer

£55,000- £60,000 + BONUS+ Excellent Benefits

Excellent new Opportunity... Our client, a leading packaging business based in Greater Manchester who supply bespoke packaging solutions to a global customer base, are currently recruiting for a Plant Manager to join their senior management team.


You will report directly to the MD and assume full control for all production and manufacturing on site. Managing a structured team across Production, Manufacturing, HS & planning, key responsibilities will be to lead, facilitate and pro-actively drive all production activities within the business. You will seek to sustain high levels of OTIF delivery to the customer, and you will be key to promoting best practice and adherence to all HS&E and quality policies and procedures.

  • To drive team performance to ensure that customer orders are completed in line with customer expectations, to specification.

  • To continuously monitor and guide team performance, identifying development needs and providing solid coaching and mentoring support.

  • Keeping site efficiency's to an optimum level, suggesting positive process improvements wherever possible

  • Work cross functionally with wider Senior Management to achieve strategic company targets

  • Driving improvements in a multi-skilled environment, achieving set agreed deadlines

  • Developing the team around you and championing best practice where H&S/ lean manufacturing are concerned


The ideal Operations Manager will have strong leadership qualities and a background within engineering. They will be able to communicate clearly at all business levels and have a proactive and driven approach to their work. Key experiences will include;

  • 5years+ experience in an Operations/ Production management role

  • Experienced working in a high volume, fast paced environment (packaging / plastics / FMCG)

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Track record of leading and developing teams

  • Degree within engineering

  • Industry qualifications (NEBOSH/ SIX Sigma) preferred, but not essential
