An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a leading Automotive parts supplier as Plant Manager of their operation in Birmingham. They have a global footprint and great reputation in the market.
The Role
Reporting to the UK Managing Director you will have full autonomy to manage the day to day Operations of a Tier 1 Automotive supplier in the West Midlands.
Key tasks include -
Management of site operational performance
Leadership of a multi-disciplinary team including Production, Quality, Engineering, Materials, Planning, Logistics, Warehousing and HR
Full P&L management
Process improvement and promoting a LEAN and CI lead culture
Managing positive customer relations
Ensuring delivery of product to customer in the required time, cost and quality in a safe manner
The Person
We are looking to recruit an experienced Operations leader for our Automotive client based in Birmingham who can lead, motivate and challenge a team in a highly pressurised, fast paced supply environment.
It is essential candidates have -
Experience of working in an Automotive supply environment
A minimum of 5 years' experience at either Plant Manage, General Manager or Operations Director level
Some P&L or budgetary exposure
Experience in managing demanding customers and creating win-win relationships
The ability to pull large cross functional teams together and ensure a proactive and positive working environment
A track record of coaching, training and developing people
Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
It is desirable candidates have -
A Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Business Management or comparable subject matter
Had full P&L responsibility in current or previous roles
Experience working in unionised environments
Unfortunately for this role Automotive supply experience is essential, candidates without experience of working in an Automotive environment at OEM, Tier 1 or Tier 2 level will not be considered for the position but may be considered for future roles.
